SPP2453 “Integration of mitochondria into the cellular proteostasis network”

The Priority Program SPP2453, consisting of 33 research groups from different German research institutions, is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) since September 2024. A particular feature of the Priority Program is the nationwide collaboration between its participating researchers. The research consortium aims to investigate how mitochondrial biogenesis and function are embedded into the cellular proteostasis network. For this, joint forces from two different disciplines are used: Experts in mitochondrial protein biogenesis and experts in cellular proteostasis will combine highly innovative techniques to obtain central insights into these fundamental cell biological processes. The findings will contribute to a better understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying aging and the development of neurodegenerative diseases. Read more...
