The 1st International Symposium of our Priority Program SPP2453 started with a one-day Postdoc/PhD student Retreat, during which our young scientists had the opportunity to present their research projects. From May 27 to 29, the International Symposium featured lectures by ten top-class guest speakers, presentations by selected PIs of the SPP2453, a poster flash talk session, and a poster session by our young scientists. Of course, there was also plenty of time for networking and informal interaction.

We would like to sincerely thank all of you for participating in our 1st International Symposium of the SPP2453! In particular, a big thank you to all speakers, chairs, poster flash talk presenters and poster presenters for their contributions. You truly made this event a success!

This year's retreat of the Priority Program SPP2453 „Integration of mitochondria into the cellular proteostasis network” took place at the GenoHotel Forsbach in Rösrath from June 10 to 12, 2025. A total of 66 SPP members and associates discussed their scientific progress in an interactive environment. During the three inspriring days, the PIs gave talks on the current status of their tandem or tridem projects, while the PhD students and Postdocs presented a scientific poster. Exciting guest lectures were given by Prof. Dr. Agnieszka Chacińska, (IMol, Poland), Dr. Dejana Mokranjac (LMU Munich) and Prof. Dr. Paul Schanda (ISTA, Austria). In addition to the scientific program, there was plenty of time for informal interaction.

We would like to thank all speakers and poster presenters for their contributions and three wonderful days of outstanding science. This meeting was a great success and we are already looking forward to next year's retreat!
