Summer Schools
Every year, the SPP2453 organizes a Summer School where Postdocs and PhD students learn about various laboratory methods.
Summer School 2026
August 17–20, 2026
This year’s SPP2453 Summer School on „Mass Spectrometry based Quantitative Proteomics“ was hosted by the Münch Lab at the Institute of Molecular Systems Medicine, Goethe University Frankfurt, from August 17–20, 2026.
The four-day intensive Summer School offered a hands-on training in sample preparation, LC-MS/MS instrumentation, and computational data analysis. Some of the participants also had the opportunity to bring their own samples and analyze them.
A big thank you from the entire SPP2453 team to all contributors for hosting this wonderful and perfectly organized Summer School 2026! We are very pleased that this year’s Summer School was such a success! Thank you very much for your support in training our SPP2453 early-career researchers.
Summer School 2025
September 01–04, 2025
The Summer School on „Protein import into mitochondria“ took place at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Bonn, from September 01–04, 2025.
A total of 18 young scientists associated with the SPP23453 from all over Germany came together to learn different methods to analyze protein import into mitochondria. The Summer School was featured by exciting experiments, lively poster discussions and interesting guest lectures by Prof. Dr. Thomas Becker (UKB Bonn) and Dr. Daniele Bano (DZNE, Bonn). Besides, there was plenty of time to get to know each other better.
We would like to thank all speakers and participants. It was a great pleasure to have you here in Bonn!
